I worked as a producer, presenter and reporter for the BBC on various radio and television programmes dealing with agriculture, rural life and agribusiness. This included the daily radio programme Farm Gate.

1990 – Formed Field and Food Promotions – later re-named Doris Leeman Public Relations.

Scottish Agricultural College (National Diploma in Dairying -NDD)

Awarded a six month scholarship from Young Farmers Clubs of Ulster to study agriculture and rural development in USA (living with farming families in various states and short courses at University of Illinois and Kentucky University)

Study tour in New Zealand which included representing Guild of Agricultural Journalists, Northern Ireland at the World Conference of Agricultural Journalists.
